Ayahuasca
Ayahuasca (Quechua, pronounced a.ja.wa.ska) is a name given to various psychoactive infusions or decoctions prepared from various plants. Usually the Banisteriopsis Caapi vine (which is native to the Amazon Rainforest), which can be mixed with various other plants.
Banisteriopsis Caapi is an MAO inhibiter, and so is used in conjunction with DMT containing plants such as Chacruna (also know as Psychotria Viridis)
An Ayahuasca brew can give a VERY strong Psychedelic effect. Ayahuasca has been used in spiritual shamanic ceremonies in South America for hundreds if not thousands of years.
We feel that it would be disrespectful to call Ayahuasca a ‘Legal High’… it has a very strong spiritual history as a ‘teacher’ and healer, and should be respected as the powerful tool it is.
We recommend buying a book on Psychedelic Shamanism if you are interested in Ayahuasca.
Here is one example of a recipe that may sometimes be used in South America for a single dosage. (Although we would not recommend trying this, we sell ayahuasca products for research only)
1. Take 3 litres of water with 30ml of white vinegar, and add 1.4l of this to the Ayahuasca mix (30g vine, 20g Chacruna)
2. Boil this gently for around 1hr, making sure it doesn’t dry out.
3. Filter the plant out, saving the water
4. Put the plant material back in the pan, with the other 1.5l of so far unused water, and boil softly for another hour – avoiding the pan drying up.
5. Filter the plant out again, saving the water again.
6. Now filter any bits out of both waters, and heat slowly to reduce down to around 50ml of brew.
7. Allow to cool.
Our Ayahuasca is sold for botanical research purposes only and should not be consumed.
