What is Nitrous Oxide? - Is it Laughing Gas

Well, although Nitrous Oxide is sometimes referred to as Laughing Gas, Here at LaughterPromotions we DO NOT sell it for that purpose, to inhale Nitrous Oxide is potentially dangerous. If we know, or believe you intend using it for this purpose we will not supply you.

Some of the known side effects of Nitrous Oxide Abuse are:

1) Lowers the Amount of Vitamin B12 in your body

2) Lowers the amount of Oxygen in your Blood, and,

3) Is VERY dangerous for pregnant or breast feeding women.

4) Nitrous Oxide chargers contain compressed gas, and this gas by nature freezes when it transfers out of tits compressed state, if abused it can cause burning of the lips and throat and come out under too high pressure for the lungs.

There has also been some research to suggest Nitrous Oxide inhalation, in large amounts and repeated frequently enough can cause some spinal problems.

The reason Nitrous Oxide got the name "laughing gas" is in victorian times Humphry Davy noted its effects on people. In Fact, Humphrey davy used to hold shows, at which he would give people nitrous oxide (the substance he called "laughing gas") and people would "laugh and act silly until the effects wore off...." - Nitrous Oxide was used recreationally in this way for around 40years before it became used widely in medical fields.

In recent times however, the risks involved have been discovered and it is no longer sold for recreational use.

Misuse and safety.

1 We have a policy of not selling Goods to any person whom we believe may be under 18 years of age or whom we believe may misuse the Goods.

2 You confirm that you are the named purchaser and at least 18 years of age, and understand that you will be committing an offence if you provide false information to us.

3 You confirm that you do not propose to misuse the Goods or to supply the Goods to anyone you believe (i) may be under 18 years of age, or (ii) may misuse the Goods.

4 We reserve the right to refuse to sell our Goods to any person who we suspect may misuse them.

5 We reserve the right to refuse to sell our Goods to any person who we suspect may supply the Goods (i) to persons under 18, or (ii) to persons who may misuse the Goods.

6 We reserve the right to refuse to sell or to limit the number of Goods sold to any person.

7 Without prejudice to the generality of clause 8.5 or any defences which may be available to us, insofar as you disregard the risks associated with inhalation of Nitrous Oxide, the warnings and instructions.
